What a deep clean reaches that a regular one does not
A deep clean works the same rooms a weekly visit covers, further into the extras a weekly rotates through. The order is the same: dry high first, wet low last.
1. A walk-through to agree what is in and what is out
A deep clean is scoped to the home, so the first step is a walk with you through the rooms, or the scope settled on the call. The yes-or-no list usually covers the inside of the oven, the inside of the fridge, the range hood face, cabinet fronts, and baseboards and door frames. We settle each one on the walk-through.
2. High dusting from the floor
High dusting runs from the floor. Anything a cleaner cannot reach that way stays. The point of starting here is to get the heavy dust moving down early, so the mop at the end catches what the dusting shook off.

3. The kitchen in depth
The microwave gets wiped inside with the plate out. The outside of the oven and the door glass come next, with cabinet fronts and pulls washed where the finish allows. The backsplash and the range hood surface finish the room. Inside the oven or the refrigerator comes in only when you have asked for it on the call.
4. Bathrooms in depth
USGS calls the spots and film hard water leaves on glassware unsightly but not dangerous, and hardness varies across the city by water source. A deep clean works soap scum where the shower door meets the frame, hard water film on the tile around the valves, and grout lines along the floor of the tub surround. The base of the toilet, where the fixture meets the floor, and the trim behind it. If the shower has fixed glass panels, both faces get wiped.
5. Baseboards, door frames, switch plates and window sills
Along the floor, the baseboards collect dust and the scuffs that come with it. On a deep clean the whole run gets wiped, with the door frames and the switch plates on the way through. Window sills come as part of the same cleaning, and the sliding tracks where the window meets the sill.

6. Floors last, edges and corners included
Hard floors get vacuumed and then mopped, with the attention on the edges and the corners that a weekly visit covers. Rugs are vacuumed in place; smaller rugs can be turned where the backing lifts cleanly. City code bars discharging anything but stormwater to the storm drain system, which includes streets and gutters, unless a permit or listed exemption allows it.
| Area | Regular visit | Deep clean |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen counters | Wiped end to end | Backsplash and cabinet fronts added |
| Oven | Door and outside | Door glass and inside on request |
| Fridge | Door and outside | Inside on request, top from the floor |
| Shower glass | Wiped | Soap scum and water film worked through |
| Grout | Floor only | Lines along the floor and tub surround |
| Baseboards | Spot wiped | Full run, with door frames and switch plates |
| Floors | Vacuumed and mopped | Edges and corners worked through |
The table shows where a regular cleaning stops and a deep clean goes further.
What a regular visit covers, and what a deep clean adds
A deep clean takes the regular rooms further, into the corners and fixtures a routine pass leaves for later.
A regular visit
- Counters, sink and stovetop
- Shower, toilet, vanity and mirror
- Dusting from the floor
- Floors vacuumed and mopped
A deep clean adds
- Backsplash and cabinet fronts
- Oven glass, with the inside on request
- Soap scum and water film on shower glass
- Grout lines along the floor and tub surround
- Full baseboard run, door frames and switch plates
When a deep clean fits, and when another service does
When a deep clean fits
The last top-to-bottom pass sits far back on the calendar, or a schedule is starting and you want the first visit to clear the backlog before the rhythm takes over. Guests are coming, with the bath and the kitchen the two rooms you keep looking at. You just bought the place, and the previous owner's rhythm did not reach the corners.
When another service fits better
Where the unit is already empty, a move-out clean for an empty unit carries the appliances inside and out and the floors with the furniture gone. Dust from a remodel is a different job on a new or just-finished place, and that page covers it. If the place is already kept up and nothing has slipped, a maid pass holds the line, and a schedule to keep it there runs on from a deep first visit when that fits.
On mold, a deep clean reaches small surface spots on tile and grout. Anything spreading, or on drywall, wood, ceilings or along a leak, goes to a mold professional; it is a different trade and we say so.
What the visit covers
A deep clean works the rooms you scoped on the walk-through, with products agreed on the call: ours or yours.
Deep or regular walks through the choice when it is close, and hard water stains on glass is the bathroom in more detail.
From the walk-through to the finished rooms
- You phone us about the place: rooms, baths, how we come through the door, pets, and the extras you want in or out of scope.
- The walk settles each room with you, products included.
- A price comes back and you say go.
- The deep clean runs through the home, with a last walk through the rooms possible at the end if you are around.
A deep clean in a Los Angeles bathroom
Hardness varies across the city by water source. Total hardness in LADWP's 2025 report averaged 103 mg/L in Los Angeles Aqueduct water, ran 234 to 236 mg/L at the Metropolitan Water District's Weymouth and Diemer plants, and sat at 140 mg/L at its Jensen plant. The USGS scale puts water at 61 to 120 mg/L as moderately hard, 121 to 180 as hard, and anything more than 180 as very hard. The deep clean's bathroom work includes soap scum and water film on the shower glass.
